WHO IS TRYING TO CREATE AN IMPRESSION THAT HE, TOO, IS A KOŠICE-CITIZEN SUPPORTING THE ANTI-URANIUM PROTESTS OF THE PEOPLE ?

The official website of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic says: "...The minister of environment Peter Žiga at the meeting of the Košice City Council presented his negative opinion on the problem of uranium mining at Jahodná, which is located in the close neighbourhoods of Košice. Thus he has supported the opinion of the municipal authorities as well as of the citizens of Košice..." (MORE INFO HERE)
Such a "presentation of a negative opinion" of the minister has no higher significance than a presentation of an opinion of any other citizen...
However, the minister, unlike other citizens, could really act in this matter.
- The minister, unlike other citizens, could protest in the government against the memorandum of understanding signed by the ministry of economy and the mining company.
- The minister, unlike other citizens, could make an inspection at the Mining office to find out how the decision about the protected uranium deposit was made.
- The minister, unlike other citizens, could inspect at his own Ministry of Environment and find out how it was possible to prolong the licence for the mining company to carry out a uranium geological survey without obtaining the opinion of the affected municipalities.
Instead of taking any of the above steps, the minister has "supported the opinion of the municipal authorities as well as of the citizens of Košice" thus creating an impression that we are all standing on the same side.
